  2. In all honesty, personally, this does nothing for me, hypothetically though, if I were to say have some terrible aliment and could not receive health care, then I would definitely be happy this bill passed. So let's just say that it pleases me that those who need will be receiving care when before they could not. I however will continue on with no health care for the next 7 years while I work on my degrees. Here's to illegally self medicating (when needed) and health evaluations via Google's search engine!!!!

  3. Truthfully, I cannot take a side on this debate because I dont know what all it entails. However, because I was kicked of my parents Health care policy at 22, I see the upside to this reform. Eventhough I was a full time student, my parents were forced to drop me. I can say that it saddens me to see that people are rejected coverage based off of previous health problems. The gentlemen on the new clip probly needed that coverage more than his family but yet he has to go without it. This just proves that companies want to get the most out of you, but give little in return especially if they see that you may have potentential complications (But isnt that whats its there for?).

  4. I think they should of done something like this a while a go. There are a lot of health problems in my family but for the last maybe 10 yrs the only ones that had insurance were the kids and my grandparents who are retired. It hasn't effected me yet, but soon I'm going to be kicked off of my moms insurance. I'm thinking of applying to welfare just for the medicare.

  5. Agreed! This should have been done, I was living my life extremely safe for a year. It's ashame that i was in fear to let alone kick a ball because i didnt have Medical. Im young and in shape so this type of living could have been worse for a sickly and/or older person, so i didnt complain too much. Its ridiculous how even people who work their ass off have to struggle to pay for medicine let alone even be able to get it. Im glad their doing something about it.

  6. Weston: Just stick to the books and stay away from sports and you'll be fine.

Felicia: Yeah, its is whack that full-time students are kicked to the curb, especially when our young adult age are getting longer and longer...

Steph: Good luck. You'll get Medicaid (not Medicare) and I doubt you'll get it without Disability (SSI) or getting pregnant...but you can try;)

Eona: LOL. Go kick a ball-kick two! You'll be fine. Just don't let anyone tackle you or pitch one at your head:)

  7. I'm all for the health care bill. I got dropped from my parents insurance before I was 21 and due to a health history, I ended up paying $434 a month for about 8 months. It's now just a little over a $100 which is way better (considering I'm no longer working and am one broke chica) but still this plan only covers the minimum. This bill would also help my extended family a lot who often finds themselves struggling with the payments each month.

  8. Ever since I was born I have had a heart murmur (a tiny pin whole in my heart/extra beat). Every year I need to go to the doctors to keep a close eye on my murmur, to make sure that the tiny whole does not leak out blood. This last December I was kicked off of my parents health insurance and needed health increase fast. My mother and I went shopping around and found great plans. HOWEVER, they would NOT cover my past conditions such as my heart murmur. Therefore I did not take any of those plans and somehow managed to get an extension with my parents health insurance. With this said, from past experience just from myself and trying to find some type of health care, I feel that maybe this health care bill will change things for the better. HOPEFULLY!

  9. Since I don't have health care coverage right now, it could possibly help me. But I'm sure by the time it's available, I'll have a job and have health coverage. I think it's a good plan though because not having healthcare is a scary scenario. If you have one bad accident it could ruin your life by burying you in medical bills. This has a good overall purpose, but in the end someone has to pay for all this.

  10. Wow, seems like there could be something in this new bill that would help about everyone. My question is, how much will it affect those who are already covered? Also, if and when this bill is passed is another big question for me. The guy on the show was saying how under the new bill that he would still be covered under his parents insurance untill the age of 26. If this bill does not pass in the next three years, i wont be able to benefit from that!

  11. Personally the new health care policy will mean not much difference to me. It won't kick in for some time and by the time it does I will be able to afford health care. As for people who will still be in school, with pre-existing health issues, and for those who can not afford it, I believe it will help save money and stress. Individuals who work for small businesses will also benefit due to the fact that the owners will receive a tax credit for supplying health care benefits.

  12. I am honestly 100% on the fence right now on this whole healthcare issue. As far as coverage and quality that will not change for me. My taxes may go up but we will see. As far as this being a good thing for America, I am reserving my comments for a year or two from now. This may work out to be really great for our country or it may turn out to be complete shit. But until all the kinks get worked out no one out there knows for sure how this will all work. Too many people are just regurgitating what is being spoon-fed to them by their professors or politicians on TV. This is coming from the left-leaning folks and the right-leaners as well. All that is known for sure is that it is unknown if this will be good or bad. Pray for the best but plan for the worst. James

  15. Personally I am in support for the health care vote. I believe that all Americans should be elligiable for health care regardless of existing medical conditions or their SES. I personally have not yet been affected by the bill, currently I am still under my parents medical insurance but soon I will be forced to find my own health care. This bill will be very beneficial to me once I am on my own.

  16. I definitely feel that this a step in the right direction. Our country absolutely needs to offer health care to an extended amount of people. With that being said, I do not think ALL people deserve healthcare, only those who work, are physically unable to work, or disabled. I also believe that it should be a requirement of the private employer to offer healthcare coverage, not the government (I know that is not necessarily what this bill consists of). Then by having the employer provide the healthcare, it would also help balance out the wealth in the country. Additionally, to avoid overcrowding in the hospitals, medical schools need to produce more doctors. This can be done by lowering the standards of their entrance exams into med school. But still make the EXIT exams just as difficult. This way our country will be more well equipted to meet the huge increase in demand.

  17. Well the new decision on health care has been very controversial. However, to me, it means that alot of people here in the United States will not have to suffer needlessly because of a lack of healthcare. I do not have my own health care plan. It expired for me about a year ago. Since that time I have had two injuries that required medical attention but I refused to go to the hospital because of how much it would cost. Even the most basic care in a hospital becomes very expensive without insurance. I know some people disagree with it but other countries have universal health care and they are doing just fine. I believe it is a good thing for the U.S.
